The Story

Started in El Segundo.
Built one batch at a time.

Lukey Peppers started the way the best food usually does, in a home kitchen with a kid who wouldn't quit tinkering. Lucas Alpert grew up in El Segundo, California, chasing the perfect balance of heat, sweet, and citrus. After a long stretch of experimenting, tasting, and trying again, his Honey-Lime Habanero recipe finally hit the mark.

Word got around fast. Friends and neighbors started asking for bottles, then asking for more. Pretty soon Lukey Peppers had quietly replaced the hot sauces a lot of South Bay families had used for decades. Eggs and avocado in the morning. Marinade for fish on the grill. Drizzle on tacos, wings, or anything that needs a little wake-up call.

This fall Lucas heads to Oregon State University to study food science. Translation, the lab is about to get serious. New flavors are already in the works.

"It replaced the hot sauce I'd used for fifteen years. I'm not going back." — A real customer in El Segundo
The First Release

Honey-Lime Habanero

The flavor that started it all. Three things working in harmony, the fruit-forward heat of habanero, the bright bite of fresh lime, and a touch of honey to round the edges. Real ingredients, small batches, big flavor.

🌶️

The Heat

Habanero brings the kick, but it's a clean, fruity heat. It builds, it lingers, and it never overwhelms what you're eating.

🍯

The Sweet

A measured pour of honey takes the sharp edge off and lets the pepper flavor open up. Balanced, not sugary.

🍋

The Snap

Fresh lime cuts through and ties the whole thing together. It's the reason this sauce works on almost anything.

How People Actually Use It

It's the daily driver.

  • Eggs and avocado on toast. The morning starter.
  • Folded into seafood marinades for grilled fish and shrimp.
  • Tacos, carnitas, fish, or anything off the carne asada plate.
  • A drizzle on wings, pizza, or roasted vegetables.
  • Stirred into mayo, sour cream, or aioli for an instant upgrade.
